Advanced EMG and nerve conduction testing reveals exactly what’s causing your numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness.
Reviews
You’ve been dealing with unexplained symptoms for months. The numbness in your hands keeps you awake at night. That tingling in your legs makes walking uncomfortable. Your muscle weakness is affecting your grip strength and daily activities.
Nerve and muscle testing gives you the answers you need. Our EMG and nerve conduction studies pinpoint exactly where nerve damage or muscle dysfunction is occurring. You’ll know if that numbness is carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, or something else entirely.
Clear diagnosis means targeted treatment. Instead of guessing what might help, your doctor can create a specific plan based on your test results. Many patients feel relief just knowing what they’re dealing with and having a path forward.
NY Spine Medicine has been serving the Country Club community with advanced diagnostic testing for years. Our board-certified physicians specialize in identifying nerve and muscle disorders that other doctors might miss.
We understand how frustrating it is when symptoms disrupt your life without explanation. That’s why we focus on thorough testing and clear communication about your results.
Our Country Club location means you don’t have to drive to Miami or Fort Lauderdale for quality diagnostic care. We accept most major insurance plans and work with your referring physician to ensure seamless care coordination.
Your nerve and muscle testing appointment typically takes 45-60 minutes. We start by reviewing your symptoms and medical history to understand what we’re investigating.
During the nerve conduction study, small electrodes are placed on your skin to measure how well electrical signals travel through your nerves. This shows us if nerve damage is slowing down or blocking these signals. The EMG portion uses a thin needle electrode to record electrical activity in your muscles, revealing whether muscle weakness stems from nerve problems or muscle disorders.
Most patients find the testing more comfortable than expected. You’ll feel mild electrical pulses during nerve conduction testing and brief pinching sensations during EMG. We explain each step as we go and can pause anytime you need a break.
You’ll receive your results the same day. We review exactly what the tests show, what it means for your condition, and share detailed reports with your referring physician for treatment planning.

Our diagnostic testing evaluates both motor and sensory nerve function throughout your body. We can test everything from suspected carpal tunnel syndrome in your wrists to peripheral neuropathy in your feet and legs.
The EMG portion measures muscle electrical activity to determine if weakness comes from nerve damage, muscle disease, or problems where nerves connect to muscles. Nerve conduction studies check how fast and strong electrical signals travel through specific nerves.
Many Country Club patients come to us after their primary care doctor notices decreased reflexes, unexplained numbness, or muscle weakness during routine exams. Others are referred after imaging studies like MRIs suggest nerve compression that needs functional testing to confirm.
We test for conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathy, radiculopathy from herniated discs, peripheral neuropathy from diabetes, and various muscle disorders. Each test is customized based on your specific symptoms and suspected diagnosis.
