Advanced electrodiagnostic testing that pinpoints exactly what’s causing your muscle weakness or numbness.
Reviews
You’ve been dealing with unexplained muscle weakness, tingling, or nerve pain long enough. EMG testing gives you the definitive answers you need to move forward with the right treatment.
This comprehensive electrodiagnostic evaluation measures how well your nerves and muscles communicate. When something’s not working properly, we can pinpoint exactly where the problem is and how severe it might be.
No more guessing. No more wondering if the pain is “all in your head.” You’ll walk out with clear results and a path forward that makes sense for your specific condition.
NY Spine Medicine has been providing specialized spine and pain management services to Southwest Florida for years. We understand that getting an EMG test can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re already dealing with pain or uncertainty about your condition.
Our physicians are board-certified specialists who perform hundreds of these tests each year. We know how to get accurate results while keeping you as comfortable as possible throughout the process.
You’re not just getting a test – you’re getting answers from doctors who understand exactly what you’re going through.
The EMG test has two parts: nerve conduction study and electromyography. First, small electrical pulses are sent through your nerves to measure how fast signals travel. You’ll feel a brief tingling sensation, but it’s not painful.
Next, a thin needle electrode is inserted into specific muscles to measure electrical activity. The needle is much thinner than those used for blood draws, and most patients find it more uncomfortable than painful.
The entire process typically takes 30-60 minutes depending on which nerves and muscles need testing. You’ll get your results the same day, along with a clear explanation of what they mean and what your next steps should be.
Ready to get started?
Your EMG testing includes both electromyography and nerve conduction studies for the most comprehensive evaluation possible. This combination gives a complete picture of how your nerves and muscles are functioning together.
The testing can diagnose conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, pinched nerves, muscle disorders, peripheral neuropathy, and spinal nerve problems. Many patients come in after months of uncertainty, finally getting the clarity they need to pursue effective treatment.
You’ll receive detailed results that day, along with recommendations for next steps. We coordinate directly with your referring physician to ensure seamless follow-up care and treatment planning.
