That tingling in your hands isn’t something you have to live with forever. The weakness in your legs doesn’t have to remain a mystery. When you know exactly what’s happening with your nerves and muscles, you can finally move forward with the right treatment.
Our nerve and muscle testing gives you concrete answers. You’ll understand whether that numbness is carpal tunnel, if your back pain involves nerve compression, or if your muscle weakness stems from a specific neurological condition.
No more guessing. No more treatments that don’t work because they’re targeting the wrong problem. Just clear, accurate results that point you toward real relief.
NY Spine Medicine has been serving Glen Oaks and the surrounding Queens and Nassau County communities for years. Our neurologists and pain management specialists understand that nerve and muscle problems affect every aspect of your life.
We’ve helped thousands of patients get accurate diagnoses when other providers couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Our team combines advanced diagnostic technology with the experience to interpret results correctly.
You’re not just getting a test here. You’re getting answers from specialists who know how to find them.
Your nerve and muscle testing starts with a detailed discussion about your symptoms. When did they start? What makes them better or worse? Where exactly do you feel the problem?
The actual testing involves two main components. Electromyography (EMG) measures the electrical activity in your muscles using thin needle electrodes. Nerve conduction studies use surface electrodes to measure how well your nerves transmit signals.
Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a mild shock or pinch. The entire process typically takes 30-60 minutes depending on which areas we’re testing. You’ll get your results the same day, along with a clear explanation of what they mean and what your next steps should be.

Your nerve and muscle diagnostic testing includes a complete evaluation of the affected areas. We test both sensory nerves (which carry feeling) and motor nerves (which control movement). The muscle testing shows us whether weakness comes from the muscle itself or from nerve problems affecting the muscle.
We commonly diagnose conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, radiculopathy from herniated discs, and various forms of muscle weakness. Many Glen Oaks patients come to us after months of uncertainty about symptoms that have been affecting their work, sleep, and daily activities.
Your results come with a detailed report and treatment recommendations. If you need additional care, we coordinate with physical therapists, surgeons, or other specialists to make sure you get the right treatment based on your specific diagnosis.
